Glucosinolates -
Glycoside
compounds that are found in broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and
cabbage and that contribute to the pungency of mustard and
horseradish. They act as irritants and are sometimes used as
antiinflammatories, antifungals, and antibacterials. They
may have anticarcinogenic effects.

Macamides -
Maca
roots contain several secondary metabolites of interest
including glucosinolates, fatty acids esters, phytosterols,
alkaloids and alkamides (macamides)

Macaenes -
Maca root provides the
body with lots of healthful nutrients, which includes
calcium and potassium (it has the higher levels of calcium
compared to milk).
It has carbohydrates, protein, and fatty acids. But, in it's
presence of two recently discovered compounds, macaenes
and macamides, which are thought in giving Maca the
powerful aphrodisiac effects. At April 2000 issue of medical
journal Urology, the researchers reported rodents fed the
concentration of macaenes and macamides developed the
